Nurture Room

Our Nurture Room embodies the principles of our Nurture program. Here, we prioritise the emotional well-being of our students, offering a safe space for them to express themselves and receive the support they need to thrive. Our dedicated Nurture educators are committed to fostering a culture of kindness and resilience, ensuring that every child’s unique journey is one of growth, belonging, and success.

Wellbeing Room

Our Wellbeing Room is open to students during both class and break times, providing a safe haven where caring educators help them co-regulate, allowing them to recharge their emotional and mental well-being before returning to their learning environment

Library

Our library is not just a place for books; it’s an inviting space where students can explore, learn, and dream. Open during lunchtimes, it’s the perfect spot to unwind, discover new worlds within the pages of a book, or collaborate on group projects.

Junior Primary Special Options Class

The junior primary special options class was established in 2023. Young children with additional needs or with a disability may be eligible to join this class.

If parents and carers wish to discuss access to a specialized education option, the first point of contact is the school. If, during discussion with the family and/or observations of the child or young person there are concerns about a child or young person’s need for adjustments in order to access, participate and engage in the curriculum, the principal will contact Student Support Services for support and advice. Student Support Services manage the application process.

Community Room and Kitchen

The Melaleuca Park Primary School Community Room has been upgraded with a new kitchen through the generous support of Variety Australia, the children’s charity. Coupled with ongoing support from Foodbank, the facility supports wellbeing for learning by providing hands on opportunities that develop life skills.

The Community Room and its kitchen facility is accessible to all students from reception to year 6. Fortnightly cooking lessons occur for each class, providing students with the opportunity to enjoy and share the food they prepare.

Breakfast Club is from 8.00am to 8.30am each day. The Breakfast Club provides students with a nutritious start to their day, fueling their minds and bodies for optimal learning and success.

Gymnasium

Our school gymnasium is a dynamic space where students’ physical education comes to life. During indoor PE lessons, classes take full advantage of this facility, fostering health, fitness, and teamwork. During recess breaks, the gym buzzes with activity, offering a diverse range of options for students to engage in fun and active games.

But our gym isn’t just for students; it’s a resource for the whole community. We welcome community groups to hire our gymnasium for their events and activities. If you’re interested in booking this versatile space, please reach out to the school for more information. Join us in promoting health, vitality, and community engagement.

Melaleuca Park Community Hub

The Hub is a valuable resource for families, offering access to a variety of support services, including outreach programs organized through the Department of Human Services, while also providing a warm and welcoming space for community members to visit, enjoy a coffee, and explore the offerings, including a small shop with free clothes, accessories, books, toys, fruits, vegetables, and affordable groceries, ensuring that everyone feels supported and connected.

The Hub is open from 9-12 each school day.
