Swimming

Swimming lessons are held each year in Term 4 at the Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre.

The swimming program engages, challenges and supports students to:

  • become confident and safe in aquatic environment
  • develop skills and understanding directly related to water safety (survival and rescue skills)
  • explore, evaluate and make sound decisions about their own safety, and the safety of others, in aquatics environments
  • work effectively with others.

Special Options

Some students with disabilities (SWD) are unable to achieve the learning outcomes required by the Health and Physical Education Learning area of the Australian Curriculum through the mainstream program. These students might be eligible for additional specialised swimming and aquatics lessons through the personalised water safety  program to help them achieve these outcomes.
