Transition to School
Melaleuca Park provides multiple opportunities to provide a smooth transition to our school. We understand that a smooth transition is essential for a positive start to your child’s schooling experience. Through our transition programs we aim to create an environment where students are not only well-prepared but also excited to embark on this educational adventure.
Transition from Kindergarten
One of the unique aspects of our school is our colocation with Melaleuca Park Kindergarten. This close proximity allows for seamless interactions and regular visits between the Kindergarten and school, fostering a sense of continuity and familiarity from an early age.
Visits to our school, during our discovery time, enable students to explore our school environment, interact with older students, and begin to build connections with both peers and staff. These interactions are not one-sided; our current students also cherish the experience of returning to the Kindergarten and their enchanting outdoor nature play area. It’s a two-way journey of learning, mentorship, and community-building that enriches the lives of all involved.
During the year, we arrange for older students to visit the Kindergarten classes, where they engage in activities like reading to the younger children. These interactions not only promote mentorship and leadership but also create a sense of community that extends across age groups.
Additionally, we believe in the power of whole-school community events. These gatherings provide an opportunity for students and families to come together, further strengthening the bonds that make our school a warm and welcoming place. During these events, your child will have the chance to become familiar with our staff and school grounds, ensuring they feel confident and prepared as they progress through their educational journey with us.
